Scene 1

In the front viewport a three sided shape was drawn out using the line spline tool. The shape was then extruded to create the walls of a room that forms part of the opening scene, in which 'M' is talking to Bond.
The images of the 'M' and Bond characters were first opened in Photoshop and using the magic wand tool, set to a tolerance of 60, the outside area of the image is selected.
A new layer is created and filled with a black colour.
A new layer is then created and filled with a white colour (ensure that transparency is set to none) and the layer is placed below the black layer.

The image is effectively a negative of the original 'M' image with a black colour surround and a white colour in the place of the 'M' image. The image is saved as this will be used later to provide a shadow mask when the image is mapped.

The material editor is then selected and the 'M' image mapped onto the material slot by clicking on diffuse colour.

The previously created black and white image is then loaded into the maps / opacity slot and the 'M' image is now on a black background instead of a white blackground.
A reference plane is then created and the material slot is dragged to the plane where the map becomes visible in the viewport after clicking the show standard map in viewport chequered box.
